Abatable helps companies offset hard-to-abate emissions through diversified portfolios of trusted carbon offsets which they source, evaluate and finance. This is done by recommending companies the right offsetting portfolio bundle based on budget, impact, and location preferences.

Abatable was founded in July 2021 and are backed by Global Founders Capital and Y Combinator. Its founding team has a strong founder-product fit to tackle this urgent problem, with one co-founder previously working as VP at Goldman Sachs, advising large corporates and institutional investors on nature-based carbon removal and impact investment portfolios.

Abatable has seen significant growth, expanding its platform to include a high-quality carbon offset marketplace, as well as making a strategic acquisition in the nature-based carbon credit company Ecosphere+. Its experience and focus on minimising risk whilst maximising impact gives the company an edge over other companies starting to crowd the sector.

  • We want to ensure we're building a balanced and diverse team right from the get-go, which can be challenging for an early-stage startup. We're doing this by removing bias from our interview process where possible and monitoring the gender and diversity balance in our pipeline so that we can keep it equal.
