What makes Bonnet a great place to work?
Employee in the Operations & Strategy team
Meaningful work
I really enjoy working at Bonnet. The product is super interesting and operates in a growing industry with plenty of potential and exciting technical projects. And the company mission is all about getting more people to use electric cars and fighting climate change.
People of all backgrounds are welcomed
Building a diverse team has been a priority for Bonnet since the beginning. All processes are designed to be inclusive - from our hiring process, to management training and the way we designed our performance reviews. And each quarter the People team shares their core KPIs, including diversity and gender pay gap.
Growing fast
Over the last 12 months, we have more than doubled the amount of chargers we have on the network, and launched some key European markets. We've also grown our team by 25% over the last 12 months, whilst being very intention when we hire.

Challenging work
Every day is a challenge. We're in an incredibly fast moving industry where hardware and software developments are rapid and with that comes with loads of challenges!
Meaningful work
Bonnet is at the forefront of EV adoption and the electrification of transport. It's amazing to be and it's amazing to be a part of it. Sustainability is a focal point of everything that we do and decisions that we make and we genuinely believe that we could make a huge difference in the world. Personally, I spent many years in the oil and gas industry, so I'm pleased to try and counter-act all the past carbon I've contributed to!
Growing fast
The company is growing super fast probably outpacing the industry as a whole. We have grand plans to take over the world so watch this space!
Employee in the Software Engineering team
Flexible working
I work 2 days in office and 3 days at home per week, but if a different home/office split works better for me, Bonnet is happy to accommodate that. We have some employees who work fully remote in the UK and abroad. The days I come in are up to me and if something comes up I have ample flexibility and freedom to change my in-office days. My workday typically begins at 9am but I am free to start and end work as suits me, roughly between 8am and 10am (so long as I attend all my meetings and work a full 8 hours!)
Focus on employee wellbeing
In my first few weeks working at Bonnet, I was going through the process of getting a diagnosis for ADHD, as I was really struggling with my concentration and focus. I asked my manager and HR if they would mind pushing back my start date by a month or so while I waited for my medication following my diagnosis, but instead they put me on 4 weeks of fully paid leave and insisted I focus on myself and return when I feel capable. When I returned the focus was entirely on accommodating me with my ADHD. We also have compassionate leave, 31 days of holiday and private health cover.
Open and honest communication
We have daily stand-ups (except Fridays) with the whole development team where we each briefly go over what are working on, discuss any issues/challenges we are facing and plan our tasks ahead. My team also meets weekly to discuss optimisations we can make, and I have a one-to-one session with my manager every two weeks to discuss how I am working/developing. Additionally, all doors are always open for a conversation with anyone across the company.
