For a long time, the live music industry has been dominated by long-standing ticketing sites. However, consumer frustration with these sites has grown considerably in recent years. DICE solves this problem by offering a sleek and usable alternative to sites like Ticketmaster.
DICE was founded by a former consultant and record label founder, which has helped shape the company considerably. DICE’s main strength is its app, which balances engagement, discovery and ease-of-use. Compared to sites and apps such as Ticketmaster, DICE offers greater depth. This has helped the company to reach a valuation of around $400 million following an impressive raise in 2021. This is testament to DICE’s growing ubiquity.
Since raising $122 million in funding in 2021, DICE has set about expanding its operations, with an especial focus on the lucrative US & German market. So far, this expansion has fared well and, with the live music and entertainment industry experiencing a considerable upturn, DICE’s success is likely to continue.

If you've ever met someone from the DICE team, you'll know they are the nicest, most welcoming group ever. I've never enjoyed working with a team so much.

I'm coming to 2 months working at DICE and I'm loving the experience so far. The company is growing super fast and that doesn't come without challenges, but the support you get from management is amazing. I'm clearly trusted to my job but fully supported in terms of time and resources to do it, as well as helping me clear out any potential blockers.

DICE is very clearly committed to Diversity. The manifesto is super inspiring and the DEI team is incredibly dedicated and passionate. There's work to do, as there is in any company - but that is acknowledged and supported. By far the most diverse team I've ever worked with.

There are weekly company wide presentations to share the work that is being carried out company-wide. Roadmaps are not only public but there's a person dedicated to communicating it internally. Nothing really seems to be a secret: If you are interested in a given theme and you share that interest, chances are you'll get invited to the relevant meetings. Your seniority / rank doesn't seem to matter as much as in other more traditional/corporate companies - in a good way! i.e. everyone can always share their thoughts and make a difference on a given project. There doesn't seem to be space for egos either, which I find really great.

Since my first day at DICE, I've never felt in the dark about product or business decisions. The upper and middle leadership are incredibly open, talking about the past, present, and future without holding back. This really builds the foundation of the day-to-day culture and only enhances the other great parts of my role.

DICE use a well thought-through set of technologies and haven't been afraid to push into slightly younger languages. This means each day you're building things that haven't been done in that tech stack before, giving you the chance to tackle problems in a new way even if the problem itself isn't a new one. DICE are dead set on an excellent fan experience which means there's no room to compromise on how well a feature or system is built, it needs to be executed well. DICE manage to make a lot of space for this and are very open to multiple iterations on deliverables to ensure both the experience and the implementation are right for what we need at the time. This means you bring your best self to work each day ready to crack on with those new challenges, knowing you'll be supported to get to the right place.

During the interview process the recruitment team were very open about compensation. The first message they sent me included a range which was in line with the market rate and we quickly discussed my expectations so nothing was hidden early on. They reward all their staff, no matter the role, with share options meaning everyone will share in the success of the company, not just the execs or engineers. It's also clear that promotions are an important part of DICE. In every all hands they cover promotions as well as new starters, and many of the leadership team started off in the early junior/intern ranks back when they joined and had their talent recognised by the organisation quickly. There's no signs of a corporate rat race here!
