Otta's take

Sam Franklin

CEO of Otta

The use of data integration software involves combining data from different sources to provide users with a unified view. Due to the growing need to combine several heterogeneous data sources, along with the rise of cloud computing, demand for effective data integration tools and services has been increasing.

While Fivetran is one of the most prominent platforms companies use to “extract, transform, and load” data into its warehouse, Hightouch does the opposite of that, what has become known as “reverse ETL.” For example, a company could use Fivetran to get the data into its warehouse and then use Hightouch to get the data from the warehouse and into Salesforce.

Customers of Hightouch include B2B companies such as Kong, Plaid, and Mattermost, and B2C companies like Nando’s and Autotrader. The company has acquired the product-led sales automation startup Workbase, as well as Whatis, a knowledge management startup, and has expanded an existing partnership with Snowflake towards providing joint customers with seamless access to data activation.
