Otta's take

Theo Margolius

COO of Otta

Increased awareness of the importance of mental wellness in young children and their families has driven increased demand for therapy services, but help is not always available. Many specialized mental health services come with lengthy waiting lists due to limited in-person appointments, and services with smaller waiting times are often less specialized and follow a one-size-fits-all approach.

Little Otter provides an online therapy service for children and their families, focused on providing personalized therapy by leading experts in childhood mental health to homes through a smartphone app. The child and their family must fill in an online assessment which is assessed to match the patient with a personalized therapist and care plan, covering areas such as anxiety, tantrums, relationship conflicts, and attention difficulties.

Whilst therapy for childhood mental health issues is widely available, its specialized nature often leads to difficulties in access, and Little Otter’s remote approach shows potential to improve this. The company also recognizes the unique problems children face with its personalized approach, staying away from a problematic one-size-fits-all attitude.
