Otta's take

Sam Franklin

CEO of Otta

90% of new parents are millennials and they are shopping for their children in a completely different way to the generations before them. The young parents of today value selection, quality, and design, yet there has been a lack of a consolidated children’s online retail sites.

Maisonette provides stylish and relevant clothing, innovative toys, and child-friendly home decor for a new generation of parents. The startup was founded by two millennial mothers who believed the roughly $600 billion industry of children's products was disconnected from modern parents.

Maisonette’s growth strategy includes attracting and aggregating emerging brands on its website, to combine the higher-end brands with Maisonette’s more affordable in-house lines. It has raised nearly $50 million which it has used to break out of the US market and go global. Furthermore, it is developing innovative personalization technology to enhance its eCommerce experience for customers and retailers alike.
