Co-founder and CEO, Alex Israel, was a previous founder at ParkMe, the world’s largest database of real-time parking information. Alex sold ParkMe to INRIX, the leading traffic intelligence provider. Further, following Metropolis' Series B fundraise of $167M and its nationwide partnership with Premier Parking, one of the largest parking providers in the industry and rideshare giant Uber, the platform is expanding rapidly. It's also investing in analytics and business marketing to aid its expansion.

Metropolis is a pioneer in its category, only competing - or partnering - with legacy parking companies in an effort to optimize the overall parking industry structure. A key strength for Metropolis is its ambition to use parking as a building block for a wider range of future mobility solutions, such as the deployment of autonomous vehicles, cleaning and charging stations, and infrastructure for eVTOLs (electric aircrafts). The company is also exploring interesting new features such as dynamic pricing, which would allow property owners to make the most of demand surges with an Uber-style pricing mechanism.
