OpenPhone leverages many of the advantages of a traditional business phone, allowing users to maintain work boundaries and privacy, without the need for new, high-cost hardware. The app, which costs less than $10 a month, gives users access to a second phone number on their own, pre-existing phone.
By not pitching itself as a call centre product, and instead targeting people looking for a business phone number, OpenPhone has attracted freelancers, small companies, contractors, and larger companies ready to modernize their existing phone systems. It has also successfully differentiated the company from competitors (including Aircall and Airpad).
