Perch acquires and operates high-performing Amazon third-party and other direct-to-consumer brands who stand out in their markets. Founded in 2019, the company raised over $900 million in its first 18 months, making it one of the most heavily funded companies of its kind.
Perch operates on a fairly simple model, buying and scaling already successful online retailers at a rate of around two brand acquisitions per week. Behind the scenes, it uses a team of software engineers to build software that allows the company to identify the best targets for acquisition.
The pace of growth doesn’t look like it's slowing down anytime soon, having acquired Amazon Seller Web Deals Direct, which boasts 30 of its own brands. What's more, there are plans to move beyond Amazon into the likes of Target and Walmart, as well as into the brick-and-mortar retail space.
