Shadow IT is a problem faced by many SaaS companies using cloud-based services. Defining the unapproved use of IT, devices, or applications without the knowledge of the companies that made it, Shadow IT capitalises on the very thing that makes a digital application successful - its ease of deployment and user accessibility. This can lead to data and compliance breaches, a headache for the SaaS company.
Ploy tackles this problem through its software management service that integrates easily into a customer's tech stack and helps to protect data and save money on duplicate SaaS licenses and applications, no longer used by employees. In short, Ploy helps to stop technology from leaking to outside parties.
Ploy is in its early days, having been founded in 2023. As a small team, it has already proved itself invaluable to companies such as PayFit, Times Higher Education, and Sidekick. It will be interesting to see how the company scales in the near future.
