The non-cash rewards industry is worth $300 billion, yet hasn't seen much innovation. Incumbents focus on physical gift cards, and a lot of the work is done on spreadsheets and outdated systems.

Runa (rebranded from WeGift) has built a platform that offers API access for businesses to automate sending digital rewards.

There are clear similarities to Stripe here: they revolutionised payments to businesses and are now worth $20 billion. Runa is providing quick integrations for developers and simple design, just like Stripe, but do it such that businesses can 'pay' their customers.

Runa had a strong year in 2023, diversifying its customer base and bringing to the market more than 1500 payout types. It is available in over 40 countries and 25 currencies, indicating a massive leap forward for the platform.
