SunSave are setting out to make solar energy and battery storage accessible to the mass market by removing the upfront cost and providing a subscription service that takes care of everything – from installation to maintenance - so that every UK household can save on their energy bills.

The model is designed to remove the biggest barrier to installing rooftop solar and storage - the c.£10-15k in typical upfront cost - allowing customers to save on their energy bills from day one. This is wrapped into a hassle-free service, with installation, monitoring, and maintenance included, which also enables households to sell excess electricity and participate in the smart grid.

The green company has already attracted the attention of blue-chip VC funds and household name entrepreneurs, raising c.£5m in an oversubscribed seed round in January 2022. Sunsave will bring a tried and tested business model (e.g. Sunrun) to the UK and, in so doing, build the next green unicorn.
