To cultivate authentic materials without compromise by harnessing science and nature responsibly.

CTO of Otta
VitroLabs offers a technological solution to the age-old debate about animal cruelty in leather goods manufacturing. Using breakthrough research in stem cell tech and tissue engineering, they have developed a platform to manufacture genuine leather at scale using only a single animal biopsy.
The demand for cruelty-free leather alternatives and luxury leather goods alike has grown substantially over recent years, and both are expected to be major markets worth upwards of $85 billion worldwide by 2025. Yet the supply of calf leather, traditionally used for high-end goods, is dwindling thanks to the rapid decrease in veal consumption. VitroLabs’ product neatly ties up all these loose ends.
VitroLabs' Agronomic-led funding saw support from high-profile celebrity Leonardo DiCaprio, which is being invested in fast-tracking the commercialization of its calf, crocodile, and ostrich leathers, and expanding its scientific, manufacturing, and business development teams. The company also aims to expand into regenerative medicine in the future.
