Role

Who you are

  • You’re a product-minded engineer with at least 4 years of experience in full-stack web development with a strong focus on JavaScript-based technologies such as React and NodeJS
  • Are interested in helping shape the technical direction of the company, including technological and architectural choices
  • Enjoy collaborating with Product managers and Designers to craft effective and delightful experiences
  • You like to keep things simple so we focus on the product and not in over-engineered solutions

What the job involves

  • Be a core member of our team building our early product and platform, from inception to deployment, from frontend to backend
  • Contribute to best practices for our CI/CD process
  • Shape and embody the technical culture, shaping the team to grow in the healthiest way possible
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product management, and design to deliver user-focused and delightful experiences

  • Initial screening call with the Head of Product (15 mins)
  • Planning and delivery assessment with two engineers (45 mins)
  • Technical challenge. Review at home but code live via video call (90 mins)
  • Final round. Meet Natasha, our Founder and CEO (30 mins) and some other members of the wider team (30 mins).

Customer service teams often try to use antiquated methods to have employees clock in and out, or micro manage their time. Surfboard wants to rebuild trust between organisations and employees by creating a new, efficient platform for customer service teams.

The company's end-to-end solution centralises data, makes forecasts, schedules agents fairly and provides teams with tools to put development and training at the forefront of their experience. Surfboard also uses data to enable teams to hit their service targets whilst improving morale.
