  • You lead by example and are able to inspire others with your skillset, your drive, your grit, your ways of working, your management style and your down-to-earthness
  • You’re smart - able, perceptive, nimble, sharp, proactive, you give due attention to details, you start by asking ‘why?’
  • You’re humble - willing to help others, non-hierarchical, non-boastful, a team player, critical of yourself and not just of others, you’re accountable, not arrogant, you’re willing to accept criticism, open to being wrong

  • You have a growth mindset - you seek continuous improvement, always pushing yourself to be even better than you are today
  • You are a fluent German speaker with a high level of written and spoken English

What the job involves

  • This is one of the most central and important positions and part of the senior leadership team within iwoca Deutschland, as you’ll be holistically responsible for the acquisition of new business partners, like banks, online-platforms and brokers, and the key market stakeholder for our product-market fit
  • You will also be responsible for our indirect distribution channels such as our high-profile strategic partnerships including large E-Commerce platforms, and our network of more than 1000 independent brokers
  • Each of these channels has a capable and motivated team in place to pursue opportunities and optimize existing efforts without the need for micromanagement - you are the coach, coordinator, and mentor for them, and the central stakeholder for go-to-market topics within iwoca Germany
  • You need to bring hard skills, experience, resilience and a passion for collaboration and leadership
  • Beyond that, we’ll of course equip you with everything you need to be effective in your role - a deep understanding of iwoca, our products, processes, business model and unit economics, as well as the knowledge and structures we’ve already built in our success path so far
  • You’ll be an important member of iwoca’s international leadership team which has around 20 iwocans from all areas of the company
  • You’ll be reporting directly into our Germany GM
  • You’ll be owning the overarching go-to-market strategy for our product suite in Germany and priorities on specific partner segments or customer channels. You’ll be instrumental in helping us find opportunities that enable us to scale
  • Together with your Business Development team you will be responsible for winning new partners, brokers and introducers. You will be positioning iwoca as the most relevant provider of digital loans for SMEs in the German market
  • Among our large network of strategic partners and brokers, you’ll build trusted relationships with their C-level stakeholders to gain a deep market understanding, create mutual focus on the success of these partnerships, and be ready to jump in as an escalation point when roadblocks appear along the way
  • You’ll take on the key and most complex projects and lead RfP with processes for game-changing partnerships
  • You’ll develop robust and well-thought-through implementation proposals, translating strategies into considered, fact-based and impactful plans
  • Together with your peers you’ll calibrate our product/market fit and set the direction for new product or feature developments
  • You’ll define ambitious goals for the channel owners and equip them with what they need to achieve them - budget, team capacity, guidance
  • You’ll be an enabler to your team, giving each of them guidance and the support they require and acting both as a sounding board and a quality backstop for their work
  • You’ll deploy your strong analytical skills and solve complex problems in a data-driven way. We live, breathe and sleep data
  • You’ll create a sense of purpose for the team that generates trust, buy-in and respect. You’ll be celebrating success, encouraging others to share the spotlight

Our take

UK SME's are the backbone of a complex economy that is constantly changing, so the need for fast and responsive access to finance is becoming more and more important to ensure their success and growth. iwoca allows SMEs access to business loans in less than a minute, with its API and business marketplace partnerships.

With offerings like iwoca's, gone are the days where waiting up to eight weeks for a loan decision was viable. Its simplified business loans of £1,000 - £500,000 come with no fees attached, and applying online takes no more than five minutes. The ready availability of iwoca loans gives business owners a level of certainty, so that they can make instant decisions to help their business grow.

iwoca has made a number of partnerships with other players in the business finance space, including an impressive industry-first invoice checkout integration with QuickBooks. Funding raised by the company, which is now operating at net profitability, will enable it to meet a recent surge in demand for corporate loans. The company has made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since launching, positioning itself as a leading European fintech.

Company values

  • Motivated: Going to work shouldn't feel like a slog, so we want everyone in the team to personally care about what they're working on. We stay motivated by celebrating our wins, learning from our mistakes, and always looking for new gaps to step into.
  • Smart: At iwoca being smart isn't about what you know, it's about how you think. Smart thinking means looking at each problem by asking ‘why’ first, then figuring out ‘how’.
  • Humble: We know all ideas are flawed, all code has bugs, and everyone makes mistakes - it’s how we learn. For us, being humble means you question yourself first, rather than your team.
  • Growth Mindset: We think there's always a better way to solve a problem. So we never let ourselves get comfortable with being good enough.
