Role

Who you are

  • Unity expertise: confident with architectural patterns applicable to Unity game engine and its XR plug-ins. Idiosyncratic understanding of various aspects of Unity that are required for shipping an immersive app, from 2D & 3D assets to animations and lighting
  • XR portfolio: demonstrable experience of working on XR for headsets and/or mobile. Please share links to a minimum of two XR Unity projects with your expression of interest
  • Fluid programming in C#: robust event-driven programming skills, able to write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code. Familiarity with Unity Test Framework.
  • Performance focus: ability to implement gameplay mechanics to a high standard while ensuring a balance between engaging experiences and optimal performance
  • Team worker: Experience in managing and delivering projects in a production environment. Can use Git version control in a team
  • Working in the UK: you need to be eligible to work in the UK, and able to travel to our office in Finsbury Park, London

What the job involves

  • Animorph is looking for a Unity Developer to work with us part-time (4 days a week) for 12 months. We have three MedTech applications being developed in Unity at the moment, one aimed at stroke survivors, a second supporting people with bipolar, and a third for people with early stage dementia and mild cognitive impairment.
  • Develop gameplays: build gameplay mechanics in pursuit of captivating XR experiences with a compelling user experience
  • Co-operate within a team: collaborate with a small team of designers and developers, take ownership over the feature development in the spirit of companionship, transparency, creativity and the scientific method
  • Learn new technologies: embrace new XR hardware and SDKs, build on established approaches to find common places and synergies in order to leverage the promise of cutting-edge software
  • Stress-testing: question the readiness of the software to push it beyond a prototype, aspiring for a polished implementation with a seamless user experience

  • Coding challenge to be completed in own time, followed by skills interview with our lead developer
  • Work with the team for a 2-week paid trial sprint
