Founded in 2016, Animorph has been developing cutting-edge prototypes that address mental conditions and sensory deficiencies. With research rooted in neuroscience, the company aims to develop a multifunctional ecosystem for the next computing platform.
Animorph believes that immersive technology will have a profound impact on humanity and the company is dedicated to positively influencing this trajectory. They have partnered with research institutions such as The University of East Anglia and the Open University in order to solve long-standing learning and medical challenges.

Animorph is very serious about making useful technology. Some of the apps we're making are on stroke rehabilitation and stress relief, which are things that people are seriously struggling with and even though technology can help, it hasn't happened yet.

Meaningful work

I've been working for a decade in the tech industry and never before have I seen a company which is more caring for the people who work there. It's not about the company policies; it's that the directors of the company are consciously and actively striving for everyone to be well.

The company is structured as a co-op. All employees can take part in the main decision making meetings and make their own proposals as well. Active listening and sociocratic processes are core parts of how the company is doing things.

Extended reality is an exciting new space, where nothing is fully settled yet so there are many opportunities to experiment and to learn. Animorph gave me the opportunity to extend myself into all of the above, as well as UX and digital in general. I also learned a lot about business development, sociocracy, governance and finance. Not to mention Research Lake, a dedicated monthly session where everyone can present a topic/ research they are interested in, these can then potentially grow into projects.

The structure of our co-operative is flat, so everyone working here has a lot of agency and autonomy. As a designer I have the creative freedom to make the best work I can. As a member I am also able to shape how we operate, which projects we pursue, and what direction we develop.

We are a small team but with really diverse and interesting pursuits, and a multitude of talents. This I believe is reflected in the work, as well as some amazing lunch chats.
