What the job involves
- As a Battery Systems Engineer, you will work closely with our business and cross-functional engineering teams to gather requirements, design, and implement new features
- You’ll contribute to all aspects of the battery systems development lifecycle, including design, architecture, development, documentation, testing, and operations
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of battery systems and sub-systems
- Decompose system and sub-system requirements to the component level
- Develop and support verification, validation, and integration strategies, as well as testing from prototype to production
- Conduct system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessments
- Review technical drawings and production documentation
- Perform root cause analysis
- Provide support to assembly and testing teams during production
- Ensure product conformity to standards and best practices
- Drive product safety through analytical, risk-assessed approaches
- Lead technically-focused meetings

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
