Role

Who you are

  • Understanding of Compute and AI: A deep understanding of Compute and AI technologies is essential for this role. You should be able to articulate the benefits and applications of these technologies to potential clients
  • Technical Background: Ideally, you have a technical background and may have worked as an engineer in the past. This technical knowledge will be invaluable when engaging with clients and addressing their specific needs
  • Sales Acumen: While this is not a management role initially, strong sales skills are a must. You should be a persuasive communicator, able to negotiate effectively, and close deals
  • Experience in IP (RISC V or AI) or Hardware Sales: Candidates with experience in the IP (RISC V or AI) world or hardware sales to the AI ecosystem are highly desirable. Knowledge of these domains will give you a competitive edge
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (Engineering, Computer Science, Business, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successful sales in a technical environment
  • 6+ years experience in account management and sales at in relevant industries
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

What the job involves

  • In this role, you'll build and nurture relationships with clients, identify new business opportunities, and leverage your technical background to understand and address their unique needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sales strategies
  • Understand clients' technical needs and effectively communicate the value of our Compute and AI solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical insights and recommendations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments in Compute, AI, and related technologies
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals

Advances in Artificial Intelligence applications combined with a global chip shortage are strong tailwinds for chip processor, Tenstorrent. The semi-conducter developer is designing specialized chips for running artificial intelligence applications.

The company’s unique approach builds its chips for ‘software 2.0’ which its leaders envisions will be written at a higher level. This feature, combined with conditional computing results in a scalable distributed network approach that is analogous to a human brain.

A key early goal is to attract outside programmers who write cutting-edge A.I. applications to try out their software on Tenstorrent's chips.

While the market for specialised A.I. hardware is destined to be gigantic, the company still has to compete with a plethora of hopeful startups as well as major tech companies like NVIDIA and Qualcomm. Tenstorrent is focused on its product development plans - adding RISC-V as a priority to its product roadmap - and is aiming to add 100 engineers to its team by the end of 2023.
