Role
Who you are
- Architect-level experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-based infrastructure
- Expertise with at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Deep expertise and experience with containerization
- In-depth experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS
- Experience deploying and managing applications with Helm
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Proficient in image and container hardening
- Familiarity with CVE’s
- Ability to develop, optimize, and debug code
- Strong coding skills with exposure to one or more of the following: Go, Python, Bash
- Ability to implement, modify, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to understand technical concepts
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Expertise with DevSecOps principles: security automation, continuous security, and cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with Gitlab
- Familiarity with Google Workspaces
Desirable
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Certified AWS Solutions Architect
- Experience as a Software Engineer or DevSecOps Engineer
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- DoD 8570 compliance

What the job involves
- Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a skilled and motivated customer facing Security Customer Ops Engineer to join the Customer Experience team
- In this role, you'll spearhead our technical efforts to bring customers onboard to our DevSecOps platform (Game Warden)
- Second Front Systems is working to accelerate the transition and adoption of emerging technology into the national security ecosystem, including the Department of Defense
- We are seeking professionals who want to operate on the front lines of an exciting and disruptive mission
- This role reports directly to the Director of Technical Delivery within the Customer Experience organization
- This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements
Our take
It goes without saying that national security is of extremely high importance and billions of relevant currencies are fuelled into achieving the highest standards each year. Second Front Systems fast-tracks government access to disruptive, commercially-proven, SaaS applications for national security missions.
Founded in 2014 by two former U.S. Marines, they used experience of outdated technology and systems to power the company's national security mission. Since its founding, Second Front has developed a DevSecOps platform and several AWS GovCloud solutions.
2023-24 funding rounds mean the company can now look to expand into the UK market and position its DevSecOps platform Game Warden as a software bridge between the two nations. The current operations and software used by the two countries are not matched and this ironing out could be transformational for the progress of joint security. The company is described as a market leader and it’s clear it is making huge progress in sectors of great importance.
