Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Experience with backend data processing at large scale
- Excellent communication skills
- Preference for experience with our tech stack - NodeJS, Python, Temporal, Qdrant, AWS (particularly RDS, Opensearch, and S3)
- Preference for a previous security clearance
What the job involves
- We are expanding from one product (Decrypt) to an ecosystem of products
- The Platform team is responsible for the shared services & infrastructure that power this ecosystem, including data pipelines, authn/authz services, business insights, API tooling, and database hydration and synchronization
- As an early member of the team, you’ll have an outsized impact on the Platform’s evolution in support of our developers, forward deployed engineers, and end users
- You’ll have a chance to build a data platform that integrates state of the art tools in Machine Learning and AI, and to solve for mission-critical workflows
- You will design elegant software solutions to complex business problems
- For example: extend our platform to enable internet scale data collection and processing; scale from supporting tens to hundreds of applications; extend our data pipelines to handle petabyte scale geospatial data; enforce permissions on massive quantities of user-uploaded documents
- You will contribute to both new and existing projects and services in multiple domains, including classified environments
- As a senior member of the platform team, you will be a natural point of contact for other engineering teams, product managers, and Mission
- You will work with these stakeholders to understand requirements, identify business value, and provide visibility
- You will also provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers

Yielding impressive traction so far, the company is using its latest Series B funding round to invest in new product development. Vannevar Labs is also aiming to win its first multi-year program from Decrypt.
