  • 10+ years of global partner management experience, experience at a hyper-growth SaaS company preferably having time in larger more mature companies and smaller earlier-stage companies

What the job involves

  • The VP of Global Strategic Partnerships will create and lead the global strategic partnerships function for Klaviyo and is responsible for setting and executing on the company’s overall strategic partnership sales strategy and vision.
  • This individual will work with global marketing, sales, customer success and partnership leadership to identify, develop, and implement an effective partnership development strategy and objectives. They also will collaborate in ensuring product efforts are prioritized correctly to support the short- and long-term needs of the partnership objectives
  • The immediate priority is to develop a strategic partnership with a known brand name GSI, such as Accenture or Deloitte, that will recommend Klaviyo to their upmarket customers while developing a B2C practice to build services surrounding Klaviyo
  • You will build a high-performance business development team that will grow in line with the partnerships created and reflect Klaviyo’s core values as well as the GTM/Partnerships team’s key tenets. This is reflected by leading by example when it comes to: always putting the customer first; delivering a differentiated experience; collaborating radically; always learning; and being an owner
  • Lead discussions with top GSIs to acquire them to join forces with Klaviyo (and Shopify) to develop a practice for B2C CRM and recommend Klaviyo up market. We want brand name GSIs on stage with us when we launch B2C CRM in Q1 2025
  • Build a plan to scale a team of ~three (TBD) global strategic partnerships leaders to manage day to day activities with key partners as we add more strategic partnerships across GSIs and Marketplaces, for example. Size of the team will be dependent on the volume of new partnerships
  • In conjunction with our Global Partnerships SVP, set the vision and growth strategy for global strategic partnerships and outline a multi-year path to deliver exceptional outcomes
  • Set ambitious revenue targets and create detailed plans to deliver, prioritizing efforts for maximum impact on customer and business outcomes
  • Set a data-driven operational cadence to create pace in a fast-growth environment. Drive excellence in our partnership motions, scaling our messaging and sales mechanics to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Operate in tandem with cross-functional teams in global sales, marketing, partnerships, and product to deliver exceptional end-to-end customer experiences that translate into strong revenue growth
  • Oversee all talent management and engagement aspects, in partnership with partner leadership, People Operations and Sales Enablement, to cultivate a culture of inclusivity, resiliency and integrity
  • Continuously develop partner leadership by always leading from a place of empathy, partnership and expertise
  • Deliver executive level presentations and business reviews to a variety of audiences
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Klaviyo is a marketing firm helping growth-focused eCommerce brands drive more sales with super-targeted, highly relevant email, Facebook and Instagram marketing campaigns. From personalised newsletters to automated emails when customers abandon their shopping carts, the marketing automation platform makes it easy for businesses to capture, store, analyze, and predictively use their own data to drive measurable, high-value outcomes.

Klaviyo's CEO, Bialecki, believes that the main problem with e-mail marketing today is that there is a divide between two kinds of tools: analytics tools that help you understand what people are doing on a website, such as what products they are considering, and messaging tools that send them a marketing e-mail. Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
