• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python preferred)
• Able to participate in on-call operational support for their areas of responsibility
• Able to travel up to 4 weeks a year for company co-working and/or retreat weeks

• As a Backend Software Engineer at Regard, you’ll be involved in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: participate in idea generation, planning, design, prototyping, execution, deployment, and iteration of new and existing features
• You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and product colleagues to bring new features and products to life
• Your primary objective will be to develop high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and align with the organization’s business goals. This will involve analyzing requirements, designing robust architectures, writing efficient code, and conducting thorough testing
• As a Backend Software Engineer, you will have the responsibility to contribute to high priority projects and continuous improvement initiatives. By delivering innovative and reliable software, you will contribute to the success of our organization and make a meaningful impact in the industry
• Collaborate with product and design team members to best design medium to large projects balancing speed to market, user experience, business goals, and technical architecture quality
• Operate independently in building new features and capabilities with support from senior engineers
• Maintain and improve the quality of the codebase and tooling in your area of responsibility by proactive fixes and improvements and through identifying and proposing projects to improve the overall backend codebase
• Participate in operational activities supporting including on-call, monitoring, and production support
• Contribute as necessary across the stack (front end, infrastructure, AWS, etc)
