What the job involves

  • The Alexa Customer Journeys team is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to drive program in the Alexa Identity space
  • As a TPM for Alexa Identity, you will partner with software engineers, scientists, designers, and quality assurance to ensure that customers can use their right credentials and profiles across Alexa experiences
  • You will work horizontally across Alexa, AGI and Amazon Identity, and own mechanisms to prioritize and streamline communication and project delivery across a diverse and highly technical range of Amazon partners
  • Lead multiple, complex cross-functional initiatives simultaneously from initiation through delivery. Involves anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management and communicating status broadly across all levels
  • Make tradeoffs while balancing the business needs with technical constraints
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to define near term and long term product roadmap
  • Create mechanisms to drive timely, accurate, and comprehensive project execution. Create clarity, eliminate obstacles and drive issue resolution to ensure deliverables & timelines are met. Drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure delivery mechanisms get better over time
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to product and engineering teams

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
