Our take

From the switch from manual driving to automatic in the 40s, and now the rise of autonomous vehicles (AVs) in the past 5-10 years, cars have come a long way. The excitement of the fully automatic Tesla may have meant other AVs were overshadowed. It’s often not realised how many vehicles, from forklifts to stock chasers, are now operable in certain capacities without direct driver control.

Cyngn is a well-established company providing autonomous vehicle solutions. The company prides itself on a team of knowledgeable engineers and software engineers that make its DriveMod product easily unified with companies' current workflows, claiming “if a human driver can do it, so can DriveMod”.

Cyngn has raised significant funding since its founding in 2009, which reflects not only the quality of it's product, but the trust the industry has in it as well. It has made a number of impressive collaborations and partnerships in recent years; such as signing with US Continental to provide self-driving stock chasers, as well as working alongside Jtec Industries to bring a sophisticated cart system to its autonomous vehicle deployments, which opens new revenue opportunities for the company.

Company values

  • Focus on Impact - Focus on great results while looking to evolve processes that make us more efficient. Exhibit a bias toward action and avoid decision-making paralysis
  • Display Curiosity - Learn rapidly and eagerly. Seek to understand our strategy, market, customers, and technology. Contribute effectively outside of your area of specialty
  • Communicate Proactively - Listen well so you can fully understand. Debate and discuss with respect for your coworkers independent of their roles within the team. Maintain a calm and professional approach even in stressful situations
  • Apply Good Judgement - Make sound decisions despite ambiguity. Think strategically about how decisions affect the broader team, and can clearly articulate what you are (and are not) trying to do. Strive to identify root causes, and get beyond just treating symptoms. Prioritise what must be done well now, and what can be improved later
  • Demonstrate Selflessness - Be egoless when searching for the best ideas. Make time to help colleagues. Share information openly and proactively
