Company mission

Altana AI's mission is to improve global commerce.

Role

Who you are

  • Significant experience (generally 8+years) as a product manager in a complex enterprise b2b space with multiple stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial sense of ownership of the success of the products, with full ownership and accountability of outcomes
  • Demonstrated success identifying commonalities across seemingly disparate user groups, and building transformative experiences
  • Business-driven with a passion for technology - you crave identifying, defining, and solving user challenges through sophisticated technology delivered in intuitive user experiences
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics to diverse stakeholders (engineers, customers, etc.) in written and verbal form
  • Experience in working closely with enterprise customers, complex user workflows, and intricate business requirements

What the job involves

  • The Product team is looking for a Director of Product Management to lead the product and design efforts for a collaborative system of engagement
  • You’ll be responsible for working closely with a diverse set of clients, coordinating with our commercial and marketing teams, incorporating company and executive vision, and collaborating with engineering to synthesize a cohesive product experience and execution plan that drives results
  • Some key product surface areas under your stewardship include:
  • Visibility - search, network analysis, and customer data foundation: You’ll deliver a system for exploring and connecting to a shared knowledge graph of the global supply chain
  • The Atlas serves as a common operating picture for users across the public and private sectors
  • The product enables users to find and analyze hundreds of millions of companies, their B2B relationships and activities, and extended networks through advanced search, network analysis, and graph exploration tools
  • The fusion, modeling, verification/refinement, and visualization of customer data within the global supply chain network is central to situating each of our customers in the common operating picture with other users
  • AI-driven insights and decision support: You’ll apply the latest artificial intelligence technologies to a massive, globally-unique dataset in combination with customer data
  • Through models, Altana-generated analytics, and third party analytics overlaid on the supply chain graph, you’ll deliver tailored intelligence across compliance, environmental impacts, sourcing and procurement, security, and business continuity dimensions for a range of users working off of a shared source of truth
  • You’ll design user interactions that drive model learning loops and compound the intelligence available to users across our platform
  • Ultimately, you’ll drive decision making with real-world mission impact
  • Collaborative workflows to take action: You’ll build a user network effect through collaborative workflows that enable users to take action across silos - internally and externally
  • We connect our users into a supply chain common operating picture with shared intelligence, and deliver collaborative workflows that enable them to take action on that visibility and intelligence, helping them to manage and govern their global, multi-tier value chain networks
  • In collaboration with product, engineering, and commercial teams, work to develop the overall product strategy, product roadmap, and feature specifications for Altana’s Customer facing UI’s and API’s
  • Manage three sub-area product managers focused on intelligence/investigative use cases, enterprise supply chains, and trade compliance & shipment screening. Mentor, unify and develop these people to ensure customer alignment while creating a single unified product
  • Collaborate with product design, engineering, internal subject matter experts, and external customers
  • Work closely with our commercial team to build out our go-to-market plans and strategies; build a deep understanding of our market trends, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape
  • Partner with sales and marketing to manage product launches and product releases
  • Develop and oversee processes for user and customer research in order to deeply understand customer needs and preferences across our target customer segments: customs agencies, logistics service providers, F500 enterprises, defense and intelligence agencies, and financial service providers
  • Mature processes for understanding market signal from sales and marketing and incorporating that into our product vision and customer engagements

Our take

Altana AI’s platform provides a shared source of truth for the global supply chain. The idea is that this will help businesses and governing powers optimize global commerce which, over the past few years, has shot up on the list of international priorities. With three quarters of businesses reporting recent supply chain disruptions, and governments increasingly concerned with mitigating security threats, data-driven visibility is more sought after than ever before.

Crucially, the platform doesn’t require data sharing to create global intelligence, instead using a federated machine learning approach. This is a nut many big-data companies have been trying to crack, and Altana AI’s success has attracted the company interest from top-tier investors like Google Ventures and Floating Point alongside contracts with the UK Department of Business & Trade. A number of other headline enterprises and government agencies are already on the company's customer roster.

With companies looking to recoup some of the $4 trillion reportedly lost in supply chain disruptions over recent years, and the push for global databases getting stronger, logistics startups are having a fruitful investment period. Altana is crafting a remarkable product at a highly marketable time, and with good uptake so far. Backed by substantial funding, Altana is set for a strong few years.
