Who you are

  • Prior experience developing build and test processes for applications running on various Linux distributions. (Extensive use of combinations of Makefiles, shell and python in CICD context)
  • Expertise with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android) operating at scale
  • Extensive experience with enterprise-grade configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle elements such as build/test/deploy
  • Extensive expertise with building automation in Jenkins pipelines
  • Strong development experience writing pipeline code in Jenkins using Groovy, including shared libraries
  • Ability to understand the needs of a scaling organization and how to optimize jobs/pipelines to sustain growth
  • Able to read and write in other scripting languages such as (Python, Go)
  • Experience utilizing git repositories (Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.)
  • Ability to write simple, to moderately complex, scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (common uses: Python, Go)
  • Ability to document processes/procedures
  • Ability to perform code-review for quality and adherence to company style guides
  • On-call rotation with other team members, subject matter expertise with Jenkins pipelines
  • 5+ years of experience working as a build engineer focused on Linux
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • 2-3 business-related trips per year for group meetings
  • Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
  • Must be able to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones
  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
  • Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles
  • This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements
