Role
Who you are
- Prior experience developing build and test processes for applications running on various Linux distributions. (Extensive use of combinations of Makefiles, shell and python in CICD context)
- Expertise with various consumer and enterprise operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android) operating at scale
- Extensive experience with enterprise-grade configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible)
- Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle elements such as build/test/deploy
- Extensive expertise with building automation in Jenkins pipelines
- Strong development experience writing pipeline code in Jenkins using Groovy, including shared libraries
- Ability to understand the needs of a scaling organization and how to optimize jobs/pipelines to sustain growth
- Able to read and write in other scripting languages such as (Python, Go)
- Experience utilizing git repositories (Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.)
- Ability to write simple, to moderately complex, scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (common uses: Python, Go)
- Ability to document processes/procedures
- Ability to perform code-review for quality and adherence to company style guides
- On-call rotation with other team members, subject matter expertise with Jenkins pipelines
- 5+ years of experience working as a build engineer focused on Linux
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- 2-3 business-related trips per year for group meetings
- Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
- Must be able to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones
- Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
- Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
- Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles
- This role will require the candidate to periodically undergo and pass additional background and fingerprint check(s) consistent with government customer requirements
