Encode Club is a leading developer education company in Emerging Tech. Working with companies in Web3 and AI to organise programmes such as hackathons, bootcamps, and accelerators, designed to help talented individuals advance their skills and careers. Over 10,000 participants engage in Encode's programmes each quarter, benefiting from high-quality, community-driven education.
Encode Club was founded by Anthony and Damir, who met while working in venture capital in 2018. Anthony had recently graduated from Oxford, and Damir had just exited his startup to a large German corporation. They recognised that high-quality education and developer access were scarce in rapidly evolving tech fields like Web3 and AI. Thus, Encode Club was created to fill this gap and collaborate with innovative startups and developers in shaping the future of Emerging Tech.
Initially bootstrapped, Encode raised a major fundraising round after two years, which marked the beginning of a phase of significant growth and expansion. Now, Encode Club stands out as a leading educator in Web3 and is rapidly building its reputation in AI, following a series of high-profile events.

I came into my role at Encode with little knowledge of Crypto and Blockchain - as did many others. We usually have a weekly crypto discussion session where we learn more about the industry and grow our technical knowledge. I've learnt so much in a few months by just being with and around others in this industry!

The job is completely remote, which means you have time to walk your dog during breaks in the day - or do your laundry when you forget! Some team members are parents and have been able to take their kids to the doctor's if they're ill, and catch up with work later on.

Encode is a great environment where hard work and effort are recognised, celebrated and rewarded. For example, after being onboarded to new tasks, I am given the opportunity to try a task on my own. I always feel like I can check in with leadership to get clarification or ask questions. We usually have calls set out to give updates on how tasks are going, which helps ensure you remain on track. Once the task is complete my line manager is very good at recognising this and making it clear how the work and effort I put in fit in with the larger picture.

Everyone at Encode is incredibly warm, kind and welcoming. This type of environment makes it easy to have open and honest communication. We have daily calls where we quickly go over our tasks and the progress we have made and we often complete our tasks in software that everyone has access to so it is easy to keep track of what is going on across the team. The way our work day is set out minimises misunderstandings and miscommunication, and I feel comfortable asking for clarification where I need it, making my work more efficient and productive.

Encode is great at giving new joiners various tasks to complete independently. The variety in the tasks I have been given has allowed me to learn what kind of work I enjoy doing most. In our review calls with leadership, we can discuss which tasks suited us better and which areas we want to delve more into in the future. So we are given many opportunities to learn by completing different types of tasks. This gives you a flavour of how the company works as a whole and allows you to specialise more in tasks that suit you best.
