Who you are

  • Demonstrated success in scaling sales operations within B2B enterprise environments, with a track record of growing revenue, expanding market presence, and building high-performing sales teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Proven experience as a Vice President of Sales or in a similar senior sales leadership role, preferably within the defense, technology, or SaaS sectors
  • Strong understanding of the defense technology landscape and the unique challenges of selling to government and national security customers
  • Demonstrated success in leading and scaling sales teams in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
  • Strong understanding of operational processes that support scalable growth in B2B enterprises, including sales automation, CRM systems, and data-driven decision-making to optimize sales performance and customer satisfaction
  • Familiarity with software deployment, cloud security, and compliance standards is a plus

Desirable

  • Deep understanding of the procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to government and defense customers. Prior experience in navigating complex sales cycles in this sector is highly valuable
  • Experience in forging and managing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and market expansion, especially in sectors aligned with national security or technology
  • Strong technical acumen, particularly with SaaS platforms, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, or similar fields, allowing for a better understanding of the product and its value proposition
  • Experience in managing and growing international sales operations, including understanding of different market dynamics, cultural nuances, and global compliance issues
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and manage high-stakes negotiations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, including C-level executives, technical teams, and external stakeholders
  • Have a strong interest in matters of national security

What the job involves

  • Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Vice President of Sales to lead and expand our sales organization
  • This senior leadership role is crucial for driving revenue growth and scaling the deployment of our Game Warden platform
  • The VP of Sales will be responsible for crafting and executing strategic sales initiatives, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and navigating the unique challenges of the defense technology sector
  • The work will be dynamic and wide-ranging with supporting the deployment and scale of our Game Warden platform
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Second Front Systems' growth objectives. Lead the sales team in executing this strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales organization
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities, focusing on expanding the deployment of the Game Warden platform within the defense and national security sectors
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions
  • Work closely with the Senior Product and Engineering Leaders to support the dynamic and wide-ranging operations involved in deploying and scaling the Game Warden platform. Ensure alignment between sales initiatives and product capabilities
  • Drive consistent revenue growth through innovative sales strategies, effective pipeline management, and by identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a cohesive approach to market entry and product delivery
  • Oversee sales reporting, forecasting, and analysis in Salesforce. Provide insights to the executive team to guide decision-making and strategic planning

Our take

It goes without saying that national security is of extremely high importance and billions of relevant currencies are fuelled into achieving the highest standards each year. Second Front Systems fast-tracks government access to disruptive, commercially-proven, SaaS applications for national security missions.

Founded in 2014 by two former U.S. Marines, they used experience of outdated technology and systems to power the company's national security mission. Since its founding, Second Front has developed a DevSecOps platform and several AWS GovCloud solutions.

2023-24 funding rounds mean the company can now look to expand into the UK market and position its DevSecOps platform Game Warden as a software bridge between the two nations. The current operations and software used by the two countries are not matched and this ironing out could be transformational for the progress of joint security. The company is described as a market leader and it’s clear it is making huge progress in sectors of great importance.
