Company mission

To propel every doer of good to their peak impact.

Role

Who you are

  • The ideal candidate will have a hunger for answers, humility, organization skills, and presentation skills to communicate their findings. The impact of our work empowers non-profit and public-sector organizations whose goals are to help those who need it most, and our products must live up to those lofty ideals every day
  • 2+ years of experience in developing business analytics solutions, focusing on requirements gathering and effective visualization of insights or open to less with relevant coursework or degree (experience in an Agile environment preferred)
  • Experience working to solve problems through data analysis
  • Experience in SQL and data visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau, plot.ly, etc.)
  • Experience with Python for data analytics
  • Be a collaborative teammate, sharing knowledge and learning from others while working through complex problems
  • Confidence, hustle, energy, and drive – accountability is key and the impact of your work is crucial to our success
  • You are always ready for the next challenge, always one step ahead, looking for creative ways to improve upon processes

Desirable

  • Experience using data to inform Product decisions
  • Experience with Jupyter or Zeppelin notebooks
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, and marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative
  • Experience with product management tools (ie. JIRA and Aha!) is beneficial

What the job involves

  • At Bonterra, our Data Analyst combines a passion for data, a desire to be accurate, attention to detail, and the ability to work through problems.
  • The Data Analyst will be responsible for executing critical roadmap items that require data analysis, benefiting both Bonterra and our clients.
  • As a key stakeholder on the Marketing team, you will analyze data to look for exciting trends in the nonprofit and philanthropic spaces that help teach our customers, build affinity for our brand, and help charitable organizations get more for their missions. At Bonterra, our data is an incredible asset to the nonprofit and philanthropic communities that are actively working to change the world.
  • Your challenge will be to harness that data - finding the best stats, patterns, and trends we can report on to guide them in their work — so they can raise more money, earn more supporters and volunteers, and create more impact through the grant-making and corporate philanthropy processes
  • Deliver critical analyses to the company with a focus on marketing related insights
  • Develop data insights and analytics that will help the nonprofit community increase philanthropy, measure impact, facilitate grantmaking, and finding efficiencies
  • Work in an Agile environment with team members, delivering solutions quickly and continuously exploring ways to improve our results
  • Work closely with colleagues in Product, Research and Development, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to structure problems and understand the impact across various departments within the company
  • Drive adoption of data and insights-driven decision making processes
  • Actively seek out new potential problems to solve, building out our future analytics Roadmap while simultaneously executing our present analyses
  • Working with data engineers, product engineers, product managers, data scientists and other data analysts on a routine basis
  • Quantify and track the success for analytic features
  • Incorporate feedback from other departments, ensuring you understand the impact of our decisions on the company as a whole
  • Measure and present the impact of your work directly to the leadership team, quantifying the value of your progress
