Who you are

  • 15+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in-house
  • Proven experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, in the SaaS sector
  • Demonstrated ability to scale a commercial legal team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to balance legal risks with business goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; active membership in good standing with a state bar

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a seasoned commercial attorney and leader to join our legal team
  • This role will be responsible for providing strategic advice and supporting all customer, channel, vendor and strategic partner deals
  • You will be a hands-on leader who can scale a commercial legal team to meet the company’s rapid growth, while helping the team drive deal closure
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, creativity, and the ability to accelerate business while mitigating risk
  • In this role, you will lead and manage a global team of 30+ attorneys and legal professionals, ensuring high performance and alignment with the company's strategic goals
  • You will develop and implement strategies to support the company's rapid growth, focusing on scaling the legal team to meet evolving business needs
  • The role requires a player/coach mindset with a willingness to take an active role in negotiating and drafting complex agreements when necessary
  • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, alliances, finance, information security, professional services, procurement, and others to accelerate business transactions and drive deal closure
  • Your ability to identify, analyze potential impact and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial transactions while driving business forward will be crucial
