Company mission

To evolve the way B2B trading partners work together into true collaboration.

Role

Who you are

  • This is a senior technical role focused on the development of our SaaS products suited to a highly focussed, ownership driven Engineer
  • Development is a small part of our engineers responsibilities and you’ll be expected to contribute to all areas of our Engineering work including product and feature design, leading and mentoring, and helping us to continually improve
  • You’ll have focussed professional experience as a data engineer, preferably in Cloud-based SAAS products. Ideally, you’ll have at least 5 years of experience here, but we focus on skill and ability, not tenure
  • Architecture design - Proven experience in developing and managing data platforms within a Data Mesh architecture, ensuring decentralized data ownership and scalable, domain-oriented data pipelines
  • Big Data processing - We process data on an enterprise scale and are ideally looking for experience with Snowflake, or alternatively, with Databricks or BigQuery
  • Software Development - Strong experience with production level software development, ideally using Python with data (Pandas, PySpark), but other languages such as C# would be acceptable. Experience working with DevOps practices such as GIT/GitHub, CI/CD, deployment tools like Octopus, and infrastructure as code
  • Data Stores - Technical excellence in SQL, NoSQL, Blob, Delta Lake, and other enterprise scale data stores
  • Data Orchestration - Enterprise scale usage of technology such as DBT, Azure Data Factory, Spark or similar tools
  • Scrum Methodologies - Experience of working within scrum frameworks and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Cloud - We are Azure hosted and experience of this is a strong preference. However other Cloud platforms like AWS/GCP are acceptable

What the job involves

  • You’ll work as a senior voice within the data engineering team to uphold and evolve common standards and best practices, collaborate to ensure that our data solutions are complementary and not duplicative
  • Contributing to technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance of our data platform
  • By going above and beyond implementing new features, we focus on customer experience, building high-quality, secure, and scalable software
  • You'll use your full range of skills and further develop them and those of your colleagues, including:
  • Problem-solving, and the ability and confidence to hack their way out of tight corners
  • Peer code reviews
  • Modern big data architecture design
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and solid written and verbal English communication skills
  • Willingness and an enthusiastic attitude to work within existing processes / methodologies
  • Working as part of an enthusiastic, fast paced and motivated agile data engineering team that takes pride in delivering a high-quality data platform
  • Coaching and mentoring other engineers
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy data pipelines and integrations using IPaaS technology
  • Collaborate on the engineering platform ingestion, orchestration, data warehouse/data lake and API strategies for our data management ecosystem
  • Interface with other technology teams to design and implement robust products, services and capabilities for the data platform making use of infrastructure as code and automation
  • Identify and deliver improvements to data engineering at Enable
  • Collaborate with our DevOps team to provide high availability data solutions that scale geographically

Our take

Rebates – payments from seller to buyer after the buyer has purchased specified goods – are an essential part of operations in a range of industries, acting as both an incentive to drive sales as well as a way to foster loyalty between trading partners. However, the archaic systems and timely practices surrounding the management of these rebates has the potential to negate the intended benefits. Enable delivers a rebate management platform that drives trusted relationships between B2B trading partners, by simplifying processes and minimising disputes.

Enable was founded in 2016 in response to the supply chain problems caused by the lack of trust, lost agreements, and siloed data surrounding rebates. Its platform automates processes to increase efficiency, allows rebate claims to be made in a timelier manner, manages pricing calculations and, importantly, reduces disputes by keeping accurate audit trails. The company stands out by a focus not only on simplifying rebate processes, but going further to convert rebates into an “engine for growth”.

Enable has raised considerable funding and support, and served many customers, demonstrating the utility of its product. Investment is cited to go towards increasing headcount and accelerating its growth into new global markets.
