Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of ecosystem / BD experience, ideally Defi, Eth experience
- Strong relationships with large web2 and web3 organizations with previous examples of partnerships built
- Web3 partnerships could involve connections to ecosystem funds or core development teams at Layer 1 protocols which we can use for data availability Web3 partnerships could also be connections to big Ethereum, Solana, Cosmos projects or teams who have not decided where to build
- Proven track record of closing deals and driving revenue growth
- Previous experience doing ecosystem for a crypto project
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think strategically
What the job involves
- Venus is looking to increase focus on B2B opportunities and consolidate our position in the market. We are hiring a remote-by-default, full-time Business Development and Growth Lead
- The mission is to aggressively pursue successful partnerships, across protocols and chains. The BD will research & communicate with AMMs & bridges, negotiate on behalf of the community, and discover any & all ways to expand Venus markets and VAI supply
- Lead BD efforts that drive growth of the protocol and stablecoin
- Create a BD strategy and set objectives for scale
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and prioritize new business opportunities
- Design & implement partnerships
- Facilitate mutually beneficial proposals with other projects
- Build & manage a sales & business development pipeline
- Identify emerging DeFi trends and use this to optimize our strategy Become an active community leader, including events & presentations Channel partner feedback back to dev team
Our take
An abbreviation of “Build ‘N Build”, BNB Chain was developed as an evolution of the Binance Smart Chain when it merged with the Binance Chain. A layer-1 blockchain, BNB Chain is a community of crypto and NFT engineers and plans to build on the decentralising efforts of Blockchain.
Aiming to be “bigger than Binance”, BNB Chain is also EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible and has a multichain function. Alongside this, it assists users with a higher capacity and lower latency asset management platform and has been used for hundreds of billions of transactions since its founding in 2017.
2022 was rocky regarding customer trust for BNB Chain. It was the victim of a hack worth $570 million in early October that year, putting its cross-chain vulnerabilities under pressure. That being said, late 2022 and early 2023 marked a surge for the company despite the crypto winter. During this time its wallets outpaced Ethereum and it became the largest L1 blockchain. It has also become something of a watchdog for fake crypto tokens and untrustworthy DApps.
