Role

Who you are

  • 2+ years experience in a SE or similar customer-facing role supporting technical interactions and communications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience across one or more of the following areas: L2-L4 networking, systems administration, cloud computing, IT security, OT security, or other relevant technical fields
  • A foundational understanding of core cybersecurity principles and challenges for IT, OT and IoT environments
  • The technical competency to implement, configure and understand runZero's solution while building strong relationships with highly specialized customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to prioritize across multiple customer projects and responsibilities
  • Openness to coaching and mentoring, possessing a natural curiosity around technology and supporting customers
  • Ability to collaborate with channel partners in support of customer projects
  • Actively manages technical PoV/PoCs within SE role supporting multiple Account Managers

What the job involves

  • RunZero is looking for a highly motivated Mid-Market Sales Engineer (West) to join our expanding SE team!
  • This role will drive impactful early-stage revenue and growth for our prospects of up to 2500 employees
  • Our team is motivated by the desire to solve critical challenges our customers face in their IT and OT environments through consultatively listening to understand their needs and sharing how runZero can assist
  • You’ll be responsible for supporting our Mid-Market business as the bridge between sales and technical teams
  • You’ll use your communications and technical skills to win business and market share while adding a powerful and differentiating new solution to IT and Security Team’s tool belts
  • This role is a unique opportunity for someone wanting to advance their career and impact through sales engineering, with the opportunity to progress into various paths as runZero grows
  • Jointly own and achieve ARR goals across our Mid-Market team by providing technical expertise and serving as a trusted advisor to customers to help support purchasing decisions or disqualify a deal when runZero is not an appropriate technical fit
  • Understand and communicate the runZero value proposition effectively through product demos, PoVs (proof-of-value), presentations, and enablement sessions with prospects, customers, or partners
  • Lead the support within customer PoVs to address their specific use cases and requirements, while collaborating within runZero as needed
  • Listen to customer and prospect feedback and share this with the company to guide product and go-to-market direction
  • Support the runZero message by contributing to webcasts, blog posts, best practices guides and tips, and other technical writing support
