Otta's take

Xav Kearney

CTO of Otta

Orum offers a platform on which users can speed up banking transactions, which often take up to five days to process and complete.

The standard Automated Clearing House (ACH) network has been used since the early 1970s and is now well out of date, forcing customers and banks themselves to wait days to confirm the availability of funds before completing payments. Orum speeds this process along with one of its two services, called Foresight, which uses AI to predict whether funds are available in an account before authorizing transactions.

Its second offering, Momentum, helps consumers by choosing which route transactions should take according to cost and speed, be it ACH, credit card networks, real time payment networks or in the future, block-chain based systems.

Orum has impressed thus far since its 2019 launch, reducing the speed of 85% of transfers of SoFi banks and First Horizon to just one day, and attracting funding from Accel and Bain Capital.
