Who you are
- Successful experience designing, building and scaling a production service
- Experience owning multi quarter projects, including planning, work breakdown, communication of progress, dependencies and risk mitigation
- Experience working directly with product, stakeholders, and non-technical partners
- Focused on building great products and willing to learn a range of technologies to do so
- Computer science fundamentals and systems design
Desirable
- At least 5+ years of professional engineering experience working in a collaborative product-driven environment
- Experience partnering with product to plan and successfully deliver against a multi quarter roadmap
- Experience in Solidity, TypeScript, React, SQL, Golang
- Experience developing smart contracts that secured meaningful value on-chain
- Experience working with a team located across multiple time zones
- Active participant in the blockchain ecosystem as a use
What the job involves
- As an engineer on the Economics Team, you will develop highly impactful products that further secure Chainlink oracle networks to provide best in class off-chain data to the blockchain ecosystem
- You will work closely with all functions at Chainlink, from engineering, operations, finance, and marketing to build smart contract driven products end to end
- Design and own the end to end delivery of large components of the economic protocols powering the Chainlink ecosystem
- Work closely with fellow engineers to build the end to end experience for your products, including but not limited to dApps, data services, smart contracts, monitoring, and tooling
- Partner with product, researchers, and economists to plan ahead and ensure continuity of work over several quarters
- Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to ensure you build products that delivery positive user experience and meets business constraints

Smart contracts are slated to be the future of transparent, fair, and efficient digital dealings across industries as diverse as lending, real estate, and international trade. Historically, the application of smart contracts was limited to on-chain data, but oracle mechanisms like Chainlink can be used to import off-chain data (like those required for the broader application of smart contracts) onto the chain.
Chainlink Labs' work has marked a significant step forward in the progress of blockchain technologies - and has proven a remarkable success story for the company. It is responsible for the largest global decentralized oracle network in the world, used by hundreds of projects spanning online gaming and cryptocurrency. It has also received its fair share of critique - but blockchain technology at large remains a work in progress, and Chainlink has been quick to develop solutions.
All in all, the benefits of Chainlink’s work look set to become even more pronounced, as smart contracts become more applied across the globe. In late 2022, the company launched the staking of its native token LINK, to increase the security of the protocol and enable the Chainlink system to grow.
