  • You have solid understanding of marketplaces and how to run experiments in marketplaces

What the job involves

  • We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Product Analytics team and help us in translating business strategy into actionable strategy and methodology for other teams: optimisation, long-term forecasts, and large-scale AB testing
  • Incentives is a central team within Bolt that offers tooling and playbooks for other verticals within Bolt to execute their growth strategies
  • In addition to working with specific verticals Incentives also takes lead on cross-vertical user experience like Bolt Plus
  • While Incentives alone drive growth in early stages of the market, key to sustainable growth strategy is to set the right strategy for Pricing and Incentives
  • For this we are looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join our ride-hailing pricing team and help us to strike the right balance in the marketplace for both riders and drivers
  • As a Senior Product Analyst at Bolt, you are much more than a data cruncher
  • You are co-leading the development of the product, being the voice of the customer, and playing a crucial role in deciding what we build and why
  • Analysing the vastness of our data to understand what makes our marketplaces efficient or attractive, what are the important drivers for long term growth
  • Determining measures of success and building up metric architecture - What is a good leading marketplace balance and growth, How do various metrics affect each other and what should we optimise for
  • Identifying the most impactful opportunities in pricing considering our current market structures and incentives strategies, building them into executable playbooks
  • Collaborating with the Growth Analytics team to drive and execute the price recommendations and tests
  • Measuring the impact of playbooks and other pricing initiatives and understanding how they affect our customers and marketplaces
  • Designing and running experiments at scale in a 2- and 3-sided marketplace, measuring their results and providing business recommendations, continuously improving our experimentation capability and culture
  • Working together with our Data Science team to improve understanding of pricing impact on customers

Bolt is another company in the competitive ride-sharing market that's trying to take market share away from Uber in London and Europe more broadly. They operate in 100 cities and have over 25 million customers

Their strategy is to focus on markets where Uber used to have a monopoly and then they come in with a better offering for drivers

Bolt has the ability to grow aggressively for now as they're well financed. They face a similar to challenge to Uber in that no company in this space has established a profitable business model that isn't propped up by investors with deep pockets. Creating a sustainable model that's better for drivers than Uber is the way Bolt can win
