Role

Who you are

  • 6+ years of compensation, finance, HR and/or analytics experience. Compensation partnership experience is a plus Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and time management skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Science or similar quantitative backgrounds
  • Self-starter mentality who is comfortable working in an ambiguous, start-up environment

What the job involves

  • As a Compensation Partner, you will be an integral member of our small but dynamic Compensation team, dedicated to enabling the PEx organization to consistently deliver and communicate fair and equitable compensation programs.
  • Your role is pivotal in providing relational, programmatic, and strategic support to Zoox and enhance our compensation programs, all while aligning with Zoox's distinctive philosophy and organizational structure
  • You will also play a crucial part in guiding HR Business Partners and Recruiting to ensure best-in-class compensation practices within our organization
  • Guide HR Business Partners in implementing compensation programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent
  • Collaborate with the Recruiting team to ensure competitive and equitable compensation packages are offered to potential hires
  • Communicate compensation changes and policies to employees, managers, and stakeholders
  • Provide training and guidance to foster an understanding of compensation programs and processes
  • Provide in-depth data analysis to inform compensation decisions and program enhancements
  • Utilize data-driven insights to ensure that compensation practices align with Zoox's mission and values

Our take

Zoox, a self-driving vehicle company, was founded to make personal transportation safer and more enjoyable for all. It has aimed to achieve this goal by creating a new mode of driverless transportation, thus eradicating the safety and logistical issues that come with human drivers.

It revealed its custom vehicle design in December 2020, showcasing something different from just a car without a driver. Uniquely, all four wheels are independent of one another, and the vehicles have no front or back, making them more agile than a standard car. Zoox claims that it is different from other industry players because it has created an entire driverless ecosystem, including the vehicle itself, allowing it to have more control.

The company is fast becoming a major player in an industry that is predicted to be worth $2 trillion by 2030. Electric motors are highly desirable, particularly in an urban environment, as governments look for ways to reduce emissions and improve air quality. Zoox is aiming to play a vital role in this evolution towards more sustainable urban mobility. Amazon acquired the company in 2020 and, despite a general downturn in the sector through 2022, is building a Zoox factory and budgeting $1 billion per year for future development and production.
