Who you are

  • A solid engineering background: 7+ years of experience in payments, backend, and API development
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing ideally in a merchant environment and a good knowledge of technology solutions that power merchant channels such as mobile, web, IVR etc
  • Proven track record of working with partners / technology solution providers within merchant verticals such as retail, government, telecom or airlines
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or interest in developing backends, APIs, libraries, and SDKs
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Self-starter, ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and matrixed environment

What the job involves

  • At Mastercard Gateway we aim to touch as many transactions on any rails, while adding and distributing as many Mastercard value added services as possible along the payment journey
  • The Mastercard Gateway product team is part of a global product function at the center of payments innovation delivering leading customer experiences through our gateway platform
  • As part of this remit the team is responsible for defining the strategy, and executing the delivery of, market-leading payment gateway products & value-added services to our acquirers and merchants on a global basis
  • Partner with regional teams within the pre-sales process, offer technical expertise and translate a deep understanding of our gateway solution to merchant / partner requirements
  • Identify integration needs to meet the targeted consumer journey across both online and F2F channels
  • Translate a deep understanding of our gateway solution to merchant / partner requirements
  • Provide technical API integration support to merchant teams
  • Analyse customer requirements to determine the optimum solution that includes gateway capabilities such as Alternative Payment Methods, Reporting / onboarding API etc
  • Identify new market needs, product gaps and partner with product management teams to champion product enhancements and build a competitive product
  • Proactively keep management informed of critical customer issues/concerns
  • Oversee timely and high-quality execution of merchant implementations to drive faster time to revenue
