Who you are
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more strongly typed backend languages. (Typescript experience is valued)
- Proven track record of building REST API (both public and internals), previous experience with large/binary payloads such as images is valued
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-availability, secure backend systems
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Experience with good CI/CD practices is valued
- Fluent spoken and written English language skills along with good communication skills are mandatory
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the backbone of Jasper AI and Clipdrop, developing and maintaining scalable backend APIs that support the ambitious goals of our applications and systems
- You'll collaborate closely with our research team to integrate the latest AI models into our platform and play a crucial role in optimizing and securing our backend infrastructure
- It will be a hybrid setup requiring you to come into the office when necessary
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable backend REST APIs to support the functionality of Jasper AI's applications and systems
- Work within cross-functional teams to define, design, and launch new features that enhance the Jasper AI experience
- Proactively contribute to the evolution of our backend systems' architecture to support scalability and innovation
- Continuously enhance the performance and efficiency of our backend systems to meet the growing needs of our business and user base
- Implement comprehensive CI/CD to minimize and increase delivery speed to production of our backend architecture

While AI has been going mainstream across many industries, its use in creative content production, rather than content analysis, has largely been met with doubt. Jasper is attempting to up the standards with its writing assistant, which can generate original long or short form content based on a short brief.
With over 100,000 customers, Jasper is used by a number of high-profile companies such as Google, IBM, and Airbnb. While ChatGPT has been dominating the news space surrounding generative AI, it has significant limits resulting from overburdened servers and a long waitlist to use the product - whereas JasperAI provides faster results and is readily available. The company is well set to see further growth as it rides the rising popularity wave of generative AI.
