What the job involves

  • We are looking for someone to join the iPhone LiveOn team. LiveOn is a small team within the iPhone Quality organization that facilitates unreleased products to be “lived on” by Apple employees outside of labs, networks and campuses, through unpredictable real life usage
  • Our goal is to enable discovery and resolution of unique high impact customer issues and to capture real world user feedback and sentiment on product performance and features so that we can ship the best experience to our customers, delivering the surprise and delight and high customer satisfaction for which Apple is known
  • This is a highly cross-functional role that will work closely with various Hardware and Software Engineering functions, Design teams, Quality and Operations
  • In this role, you will be involved in shaping future products at Apple
  • The LiveOn Engineering team works across the development process and interacts with development teams, technology teams and a multitude of passionate employees testing and reporting issues with unreleased prototype hardware and software
  • The LiveOn Engineer will be critical to the success of the program, capturing feedback, driving closure on open technical issues, surveying and summarizing customer insights and sentiment, and developing and improving tools
  • Involvement in every aspect of a LiveOn program from inception to close: scoping the program and requirements, gaining approval, execution, lessons learned and ongoing improvements
  • Work cross functionally to effectively acquire and report user experience feedback
  • Track technical issues identified, working with the relevant teams to drive to closure
  • Build surveys and tasks that will provide critical insight to user behavior and sentiment
  • Summarize key findings, issues and take aways to cross functional leaders and executives
  • Manage and track device distribution
  • Perform device characterization and testing
