Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), practices and procedures
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret financial documents and contracts
- Ability to think outside the box and be nimble
- Deadline driven and an ability to prioritize tasks
- MS Office/ Google Workspace skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
- NetSuite experience (preferred) or other accounting ERP experience
- Ability to solve problems as they arise
What the job involves
- As a Senior Accountant, you support the accounting and compliance of our organization
- You will work with the Corporate Controller and business in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to determine the accounting treatment for unique transactions and recording related journal entries
- In this role, you will collaborate with outside service providers (accounting and tax advisors), partners within the Finance team, and partners from around the business to ensure financial and related compliance
- You will assist with supporting the preparation of financial statements
- You will be empowered as a key player of our team to challenge the status quo, proactively seek to improve processes, and work collaboratively across Finance and the business
- This is a full-time role, reporting to our Corporate Controller, based in our office in Austin, Texas
- Assist the Controller with all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger (G/L), fixed asset management, payroll and expense reporting, inventory/cost accounting, and revenue recognition
- Assist the Controller with month-end closing and preparation of monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making
- Manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines and maintain attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with coworkers

Unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) are vehicles which operate at the surface of the water without a crew and can be used in oceanography and environmental monitoring, as well as for cargo transport or military applications. Saronic is a company developing USVs to have enhanced awareness and improved survivability, to be employed in maritime security.
Saronic's vehicles are designed to be smarter than previous models, with capabilities including adaptive path planning, multichannel communication, and the ability to better identify and track targets through a combination of passive sensors and advanced algorithms. The company has raised significant funding that will be used to accelerate R&D as it expands manufacturing capacity in anticipation of demand for rapid production in the future.
