Who you are

  • This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage system engineers and IT help desk teams, oversee networking, hardware procurement and logistics, and ensure the smooth functioning of shared software tools across the organization
  • The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker focusing on scalability, security, and operational excellence, and should be experienced in managing Apple hardware, Google Workplace, Cloud-based MDMs, and next-gen antivirus products
  • Proven track record of leading IT teams, preferably in a growing SaaS or technology company, with approximately 8+ yrs of total experience
  • Expertise in developing and executing IT strategies aligned with business goals and planning for growth
  • Ability to operate as a player/coach. You have excellent team leadership skills, with experience managing IT support and systems administration teams, and you can get your hands dirty when needed
  • Hands-on experience with Apple hardware, Google Workplace, cloud-based MDM’s, and next-gen antivirus products (Crowdstrike / JAMF Protect)
  • Strong knowledge of networking, systems architecture, Identity access management (Okta), and security practices
  • Experience with IT budgeting, vendor management, and contract negotiations
  • Strong understanding of compliance and security regulations, particularly those relevant to a public company
  • You can lead and manage project from inception to delivery

What the job involves

  • The Sr. Manager of IT, reporting to the VP of Operations, will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s IT strategy to support our high-growth business and future needs
  • Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Lead and manage IT teams, including system engineers and IT help desk personnel
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess future IT needs, including representing the IT team, scaling processes, and implementing best practices for security and compliance
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team, including system engineers and help desk staff. Our team is currently 5 individual contributors and will grow over time
  • Ensure the IT help desk provides exceptional support to internal teams, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Implement training programs to develop technical skills and promote career growth within the IT department
  • Oversee the company’s on-site network appliances (Fortigate firewalls and Meraki switches), ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and performant
  • Oversee and guide user identity and access management working towards the principle of zero trust
  • Ensure the uptime and reliability of shared IT services and hardware, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Manage the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, ensuring smooth logistics for device distribution and lifecycle management across multiple regions
  • Oversee inventory management and logistics for hardware, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition and deployment of IT assets
  • Create processes to ensure hardware lifecycle management, from procurement to decommissioning
  • Manage shared software systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack and Atlassian
  • Ensure employee identity and access management are operational to provide employees the tools they need in order to optimize for compliance and efficiency
  • Use JAMF to manage and secure Apple devices, ensuring policies are enforced and systems are up-to-date
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure software needs are met and drive cost-effective licensing and procurement
  • Collaborate with Legal and Security teams to address data privacy and cybersecurity concerns
  • Implement and enforce Jobber’s security policies using tooling to safeguard the company’s endpoints,
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and frameworks, preparing the company for future audits
