Who you are

  • 5 - 10 years of technology related sales or business development experience
  • 5 - 7 years of sales management experience working for technology vendor selling Enterprise cloud and software solutions, including experience in new customer acquisition and development
  • BComm / BMgmt, BA, or BS degree required. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, in French and English
  • The role requires direct communication with customers, employees and/or vendors in Central Canada

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a dynamic Account Executive highly focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services for Large Enterprise customers in Central Canada
  • Your key responsibilities will include building and partnering with Greenfield customer base focused on driving innovation and AWS platform adoption and new customer acquisition in the Enterprise segment
  • As the Enterprise Acquisition (Greenfield) Account Executive in National Central Canada, you will be responsible for a team of acquisition focused Enterprise Account Executives focused on growth within a base of the largest Canadian companies across Central Canada
  • The ideal candidate will possess a technology sales management and sales leadership background that enables them to engage at the CxO level
  • You should have a demonstrated ability to think both strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges as well as build and convey compelling value propositions and work broadly to build customer-centric approaches that drive high value business outcomes for AWS customers
  • As Account Executive, the ability to coach, motivate, and support individual team members while building scaled approaches and acumen with our sales and overlay teams will be key to your success
  • You should also be a self-starter who is prepared to own, define, develop and execute a geographic plan and consistently deliver on annual revenue targets
  • Hire and develop individual sales team members
  • Drive revenue and market share within the geography
  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional plan centered around sales engagement and customer go-to-market including vertical-centric approaches
  • Accelerate customer adoption
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and coach individual sales team members on opportunity development within that context
  • Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption
  • Manage customer facing contract negotiations
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts at the CxO / VP level
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Expect moderate travel

Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
