Who you are
- Proven experience developing and leading financial systems, strategies, operations, and policies at a tech company or startup

What the job involves
- We are in search of a Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in driving and shaping our company's financial strategy
- You will be responsible for formulating and implementing financial plans that will unlock the full potential of our organization
- Collaborating closely with the founders and the leadership team, you will ensure that Twelve Labs is strategically positioned for sustainable and scalable growth, setting the stage for long-term success
- This role will require a hands-on approach, with a focus on leveraging financial insights to drive key business decisions and optimize our financial operations
- Report to the Head of Operations and collaborate with the CTO, Head of GTM, and CEO
- Own and create business and revenue models for future fundraising rounds
- Collaborate with our GTM team on pricing strategies
- Work with department heads to manage budget variances, handle invoice processing, and understand the cost and revenue drivers of the business, while ensuring GAAP compliance
- Prepare the company for a future audit, and present the financial model at board meetings and to future investors if necessary
Our take
Developing an algorithm that can understand text or images is (relatively) straightforward. However, the challenge escalates when it comes to understanding video, where these modes merge with audio, and context becomes much harder to grasp.
Twelve Labs has developed a machine learning solution that tackles this challenge by making the inner content of videos both indexable for developers and highly searchable for users. This technology could prove immensely valuable, with use cases extending far beyond simple searchability for end users. It could be employed for more accurate monitoring of community guidelines on social media, enterprise knowledge searches, and a deeper understanding of the value of video content.
With recent funding under its belt, Twelve Labs is set for rapid growth. The investment will drive R&D, nearly double its workforce, and advance its video understanding technology. As it expands, Twelve Labs is well-positioned to lead the future of multimodal AI and revolutionize how organizations extract values from video content.
