  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders

What the job involves

  • Radar is looking for a Sales Engineer to serve as a consultative, pre-sales technical partner to support our growing segment of small and mid-size (SMB) prospective customers
  • You’ll work alongside our Sales and EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design) teams to drive new business by providing technical product overviews, supporting product Q&A sessions, and helping run successful product evaluations that demonstrate Radar’s competitive advantage and bridge our technical solutions to business value
  • As the first Sales Engineer focused on our SMB segment, you’ll get the chance to shape a brand new SE function and have a lot of autonomy and impact
  • You will report to our Director of Sales Engineering
  • Act as a technical partner to the Sales team to drive new logo acquisition
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Radar platform and function as a technical subject matter expert for prospective customers
  • Partner with the Sales team to discover customer requirements and match business and technical needs to Radar’s solutions
  • Articulate how Radar’s product meets customers’ needs by providing product demonstrations
  • Structure and drive technical product evaluations, providing informed implementation guidance and monitoring to verify accurate usage
  • Support product Q&A via email and on calls, debugging technical questions, as needed
  • Relay customer feedback or product requests to internal teams

Our take

Radar connects digital experiences to the real world by supplying companies and brands with real time location data on their users. Developers integrate Radar into their apps and then create geofences around physical locations. These trigger notifications for users when they enter.

Unlike most of its competitors who monetise the data collected, Radar prices its platform based on the number of active users. It has attracted investors from a number of impressive funds including Accel. The platform itself was built with the highest form of privacy and security controls, at the same time educating users around building location-based experiences the right way.

At a time when privacy is paramount, this focus has propelled Radar's growth to dizzying heights, and the company has secured good levels of funding. This has been invested in scaling operations, expanding its team, improving platform capabilities and broadening its reach across key verticals.
