Company mission

To provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

Role

Who you are

  • Subject matter expertise: You have demonstrable experience leading talent operations across a talent acquisition team, and have deep understanding of how strategic talent practices reduce risk and enhance performance in TA
  • You'll have owned the tech stack in TA (Linkedin ATS, background checks, etc) and have demonstrable experience in implementing systems at an enterprise level
  • Passion: You believe in the power of talent teams to build thriving companies and cultures. You stop at nothing to make sure that this is felt in every team in the business
  • Need for speed: You’ve held a leading talent operations role in a fast-paced, high-volume growth organisation that has been rapidly scaling, ideally with a presence in both the US and UK
  • Right-hand person: you know how to build relationships with managers of all levels - you’re empathetic, compassionate, effective and commercially minded
  • Thought leader: we’re looking for someone who sees talent operations as a product and who constantly innovates to improve the stakeholder experience (talent team, candidates, hiring leaders, vendors, partners)
  • Inspo: You are an inspiring person, someone that people inherently trust and who earns that trust
  • Talent partnering guru: You know your stuff in the TA space and are a leader on the best, most innovative practices (plus some of the more boring bits, too)
  • The job is never done: You pride yourself on your attention to detail and never dropping the ball. You understand that you can only expect excellence if you demonstrate it yourself

What the job involves

  • This role sits in the Talent team, reporting to the Head of Global Talent. Our team exists to create and deliver a talent advantage for Multiverse, attracting and hiring the best talent and fuelling the growth of the company. After a period of intense scale, we are now reaching the size and maturity to take our talent strategy to the next level
  • To deliver on this mission, we need to rely on a strong set of foundations whilst being able to take new initiatives from concept to implementation with speed, agility and precision. As our Head of Talent Operations, Talent sourcing and intelligence you will have 3 primary drivers:
  • 1) Identify, build, drive efficiencies and process improvements across our entire talent field of view
  • 2) Lead talent projects across our people & talent team and with stakeholders across Multiverse
  • 3) Make us more agile and able to pivot on our growth plans by setting up our first ever Talent Sourcing and Intelligence function
  • The role is 50% project-driven and 50% operating day-to-day, with 30% swings in each direction likely in different phases of the year
  • Develop, optimise, and assess scalable talent processes that deliver in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Build and execute an effective end-to-end enablement strategy, ensuring we have the foundations at a tech, process and compliance level whilst identifying new initiatives to drive performance, efficiency and results in our talent team
  • Analyse, assess and identify areas for improvement in our hiring enablement and training to ensure all our managers and team are able to apply our hiring philosophy and that it is reflected in our end to end processes across our role descriptions, ATS (Ashby) and internal and external documentation
  • Work with Talent Acquisition, people operations, finance and people partners to ensure our processes are embedded into daily work
  • Work with our TA leaders and people partners to ensure that our hiring planning processes are clear and connected with our systems and processes and communication
  • Work with the head of global talent to identify areas we can unblock for our team and hiring managers

Our take

In today's tech-driven workplace, skills like digital marketing, software engineering, product design, and data analysis are pivotal. Traditional pathways to acquiring these skills are evolving, with coding schools like Makers Academy challenging the necessity of a formal Computer Science degree.

Recognizing the need for inclusive pathways, apprenticeships have gained prominence, spurred by government mandates like the 2016 levy. Multiverse (formerly WhiteHat) exemplifies this shift, offering opportunities for all to reskill and thrive in the tech industry.

Embracing a mission of accessibility and innovation, Multiverse's recent strategic moves, including acquiring Californian AI firm, Searchlight and attracting top-tier talent, underscores its commitment to excellence. Partnering with industry giants like Google and Facebook, Multiverse is driving transformative change, democratizing access to tech education.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Multiverse

Serena Vaughan headshot

Serena Vaughan (Career Mobility Lead)

  • We want to be a leader in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), so we’re working hard to drive the change we want to see in the world, inside Multiverse.
  • Everything we do in the DEI space is undertaken with the goal of being representative of the geographies in which we operate – and our apprentice community. Gender diversity has been a long-term challenge for the tech world. We're proud that 55% of our UK Team identify as women, this increases to 64% of our Global Leadership Team (director level and above). We're also proud of our thriving LGBTQQIAAP community, comprising 11% of our UK Team.
  • We're committed to improving the diversity of our workforce, at all levels. We continue to invest in early talent through our in-house apprenticeship scheme – something we know is a fantastic route into our organization for exceptional talent from a diversity of backgrounds.
  • Last year we identified improving the diversity of our Global Leadership Team (director level+) internally as an area of focus. Steps that we took included introducing robust DEI monitoring processes, rolling out Inclusive Recruitment Training to all staff involved in the hiring, and launching our first internal, Global Leadership Accelerator program.
  • We’re proud that in the last 12 months, the representation of colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds at director+ levels, globally, has increased from 6% to 19%. This is good progress but we still have work to do and are committed to building a leadership team that is representative of our colleagues and of the communities we serve.
