Our take

Accela is a govtech company providing cloud-based software solutions to around 2,000 local and state governments (including over 80% of the largest US cities), helping them grow efficient and transparent communities.

Accela has a strong track record of staying on top of emerging government needs. 2021, for example, saw Accela partner with the US Department of Energy to launch a permitting platform for solar energy and battery projects, SolarAPP+, which was selected by Fast Company for its World Changing Idea Award 2022.

The project demonstrates how partnerships between technology platforms and the government can address emerging needs and challenges, and has won Accela strong growth and increasing uptake across state governments of various scales. Net customer retention is among the industry's best, exceeding 100 percent due to retention of it's growing pool of newer accounts, a testament to the caliber of Accela's solutions and commitment.

An agile and effective response to changing and complex governmental requirements has thus far cemented its leading market position. By adeptly keeping abreast of a swiftly-growing need for efficient govtech solutions, Accela will continue to embed itself as a vital tool of governance.
