What the job involves

  • The GTM and Product Operations team is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization, partnering closely with the sales team and leaders across Stripe to drive initiatives
  • We are seeking a self-starter to join the Global Sales Enablement team, someone who has demonstrated success in the Enterprise sales space, navigating ambiguity, thriving in a fast-growing environment, and solving problems with limited oversight
  • The Enterprise Sales Enablement Lead will drive continuous enablement for sales teams supporting our large customers, ensuring we meet the needs of the organization by leveraging scalable frameworks, closely partnering with cross-functional teams, and making data-driven decisions
  • Build and execute a sales enablement vision that advances Stripe's position in the Enterprise segment. Continuously gather business requirements to focus enablement activities on the most impactful areas
  • Identify sales skills and knowledge gaps, then partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to build programs that increase efficiency, expertise, and impact
  • Establish scalable enablement processes to support crowd-sourced knowledge-sharing
  • Model, enable, and foster a coaching culture
  • Determine KPIs for enablement programs and manage to clear performance goals
  • Partner with internal teams (Product Marketing, Sales, Tech Sales, Operations) to build sales collateral, enablement content, and live training relevant to Enterprise sellers
  • Build and deliver scalable programs to uplevel sales rigor, payments acumen, and solution-selling
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitive landscapes, adapting enablement priorities to maintain Stripe's edge
  • Build and maintain valued relationships with key stakeholders and executives to align learning experiences with business goals and performance strategies
  • Contribute to program management logistics, including scheduling, scoping, and resourcing assets for recurring enablement
  • Advocate for the Enterprise sales team and provide a feedback loop for cross-functional teams
  • Build champions among sales managers to support and scale programs, maximizing impact
  • Innovate, leveraging adult learning best practices, to meet the changing needs of the business
  • Contribute to the global sales enablement strategy and act as a strategic partner to Enterprise sales leadership

Our take

Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payments option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.

More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.

To further expand its position, the company is looking to triple its presence in Ireland, and extend its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil and India. Its latest venture, coming atop significant new funds, is to partner with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that will monetize OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhance Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forwards with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
