Our take

AppLovin operates a mobile ad network that helps advertisers target and deliver personalized ads to people who are similar to their existing user base. The company builds and acquires free-to-play mobile games and sells advertising space. Collectively, its portfolio attracts over tens of millions of users each day.

By 2026, the gaming industry is projected to be worth over $320B, and AppLovin commands a significant slice of this, with tools for building, monetizing and marketing apps towards increasing revenue for its users. The business has been profitable for some time and has received considerable investment, highlighting the potential that investors see in its product. It has also bolstered its offerings through numerous acquisitions, like German ad network Moboqo and Wurl, a high-growth software platform in the CTV market.
